How Our Journey Started and Our Progress – Wabwino Villas

Almost two months ago, we asked our Instagram family if they had any questions for us. One follower, @Travelton, asked: “How did your journey start, and where are you now?”
We’ve been busy, sorry for the delay, but today, we’re excited to share our story — from the first dream to where we are today at Wabwino Villas.
The Beginning of the Wabwino Villas Dream
The idea for Wabwino Villas began many years ago, when one of our Directors, still in her youth, fell in love with real estate for three main reasons:
Endless demand – The population is always growing, so there will always be families and individuals seeking quality housing.
Property value appreciation – Real estate remains a strong, long-term investment.
Flexible management – Unlike many businesses, you don’t have to be physically present every single day to make it work.
Our family — yes, Wabwino Villas is a family-owned project — debated whether to create mid-range homes or luxury villas in Lilongwe.
Why We Chose Luxury Villas in Lilongwe
After speaking with several expatriates living in Malawi, we heard a recurring frustration:
Unresponsive landlords
Poor maintenance
Residences that lacked warmth and quality
We wanted to change that. Our goal was to create:
A gated community that feels safe, beautiful, and welcoming.
A space where residents feel comfortable, inspired, and proud to call home.
An example that world-class housing can be built right here in Malawi.
As a family ourselves, we understood the importance of a family-friendly environment that caters to both adults and children.
From Dream to Reality: 2014–2024
It took 10 years — from 2014 to our official opening in 2024 — to bring this dream to life. The journey wasn’t easy:
We faced unfaithful workers and unskilled contractors.
We overcame financial challenges.
We dealt with delays caused by the weather.
I cannot remember how many times we paused construction because we runout of funds, but here we are. By the grace of Almighty God, we now have six completed luxury villas, each one occupied and loved by its residents.
Our Current Progress and Future Plans
Wabwino Villas is not stopping here. On the other side of our gated compound, six more villas are under construction:
Some have been plastered and are at the roofing stage.
Others are at window level.
Phase 2 We’re also enhancing the community experience with:
Pergola & Braai area for social gatherings
Clubhouse for community events
Swimming pool (completion target: October 2025)
Kids’ play area
Extensive landscaping to make our gardens greener and more inviting
The upcoming villas will range from 2-bedroom to 4-bedroom homes, with phased completion between 2025 and 2026.
A Year of Exciting Growth Ahead
Over the next 365 days, Wabwino Villas will be buzzing with progress. We’re not just building homes — we’re building a lifestyle.
